Ford F-1000

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Ford F-1000 was a line of pickup trucks produced by Ford Brazil from the 1979 to 1998 model years, across three generations. The first generation, built from 1979 to 1992, sat between the F-100 and the F-4000 and shared the F-4000 four-cylinder 3.9 litre MWM D229-4 diesel engine with a four-speed manual gearbox. Diesel models were the most popular, though ethanol or gasoline engines were offered throughout most of production, and four-wheel drive was also available. An ethanol-powered F-1000A with a 3.6 litre six-cylinder engine arrived in 1985, a plastic grille and four square headlights in 1986, a five-speed gearbox in 1989 and a turbocharged diesel F-1000 Turbo in 1991.
