The Suzuki Cultus Crescent is a subcompact car that Suzuki produced in Japan between 1995 and 2002, with South Asian production continuing until 2007. It was introduced in Japan in January 1995 and went to the global market in the first half of that year, as the first attempt by Suzuki to compete in the compact segment. It was built on a slightly stretched Cultus platform and sold as a distinct model, first as a three door hatchback and a four door sedan and from February 1996 also with four wheel drive and a wagon body, Suzuki first station wagon outside the kei class. It carried the names Esteem in North America, the Philippines and Thailand and Baleno across Asia, Australasia, Europe and Latin America, and it became the plain Cultus in Japan in 1998. In India it was built by Maruti Suzuki as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
