The Hyundai i20 is a supermini car that Hyundai has produced since 2008. It was shown at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008 and sits between the i10 and the i30 in the range, replacing the Getz in most markets, although some markets received the larger Accent hatchback instead. Its first generation used a platform created at Hyundai's European technical centre in Russelsheim, with a wheelbase of 2,525 mm, and carried seven four-cylinder engines, four petrol and three diesel. Europe and India are the largest markets and receive two different versions: an upgraded iGen i20 reached India in March 2012, the Elite i20 followed there in August 2014, and a third generation arrived in 2020. The car was built near Chennai in India and also assembled in Izmit, Turkey, from kits for Europe. It was not sold in South Korea, North America or the Philippines, where the Accent filled its place.
