Hyundai Eon

Automobiles

The Hyundai Eon is a city car that Hyundai produced, launched on 13 October 2011 in India, then in the Philippines in March 2012, Vietnam in June 2012 and Sri Lanka in June 2014, and also sold in Honduras, Nepal, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Chile, Peru, Panama and Colombia. It was built at the Chennai plant in India as Hyundai's entry-level city car, below the i10 and the Atos, and exported to Latin America, Africa and several Asian countries; it is also called the Hyundai Atos Eon in several markets. Hyundai research centres in Namyang, South Korea, and Hyderabad, India, designed it together. It had an 814 cc three-cylinder petrol engine of 41 kW, LPG models were announced in January 2012, and a variant with the 1.0 litre Kappa II three-cylinder engine followed in May 2014. It was discontinued in India and other markets in 2019.
