Dubai International Airport

Airports and Aviation Ground Infrastructure

Dubai International Airport serves as the principal aviation gateway of the United Arab Emirates and the main hub of Emirates airline, built around Dubai's strategy of positioning itself as a global crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa. It became one of the world's busiest airports for international passenger traffic, its growth driven largely by long-haul connecting flights routed through Dubai rather than by local origin-and-destination demand. The airport expanded through successive terminal additions as the emirate invested heavily in aviation infrastructure to underpin its broader ambitions as a trade and tourism hub.
