SUM Air

SUM Air is a South Korean regional airline based in Gangseo District, Seoul, founded on 17 November 2022 as a subsidiary of the mobility company Mobility As A Freedom. After obtaining its air carrier license from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in February 2025, the airline began commercial service on 30 March 2026 using ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft. SUM Air was set up to serve short regional routes connecting South Korea with nearby destinations in Japan and China, positions it fills with a small initial fleet while it awaits delivery of six further ATR 72-600s already on order. As a new entrant it represents part of a wider push to expand regional air links within South Korea and across the wider East Asian region beyond the country's dominant full service and low cost carriers.
