The Fairey FC1 was a British airliner project of the late 1930s that never flew. It was Fairey's design to Air Ministry specification 15/38 for a short and medium haul airliner and was chosen as the winner in October 1938, with an order for two prototypes and twelve production aircraft for British Airways Ltd. A four-engined low-wing monoplane with Bristol Taurus radials and a pressurised cabin for 26 passengers and a crew of five, it used small, highly loaded wings and the new Fairey-Youngman flap to combine efficient cruising with manageable landing speeds. The project was cancelled on 17 October 1939 after war broke out.
