The Caproni Ca.308 Borea, meaning North Wind, was a small Italian airliner of the mid-1930s: a streamlined, low-wing cantilever monoplane of conventional layout with a non-retractable undercarriage whose main wheels wore spats. Its prototype, designated Ca.306, was shown at the Milan Exhibition of 1935. The Italian airline Ala Littoria ordered five examples and the Italian government ordered two more for general-purpose use by its colonial administration in Libya; all of these were designated Ca.308, and seven production aircraft are recorded. The basic design later served as the basis of a large family of military aircraft, beginning with the Caproni Ca.309.
