The Avro 618 Ten, also called the Avro X, was a passenger transport aircraft of the 1930s, a version of the Fokker F.VIIB/3m built under licence by Avro. In 1928 Avro arranged with Fokker to license production for sale in the British Empire except Canada, and the Ten name reflected a capacity of two crew and eight passengers. After the centre engine mounting was modified to meet British airworthiness rules, it was first displayed at the 1929 Olympia Aero Show. The first five went to Australian National Airways, entering service on 1 January 1930 between Brisbane and Sydney, and the Ten also flew for Imperial Airways, Midland and Scottish Air Ferries, Indian State Airways and the Egyptian Army air force. Fourteen were built, with the smaller Five and Six variants following.
