The Airbus A330neo is the re-engined version of the A330 wide-body airliner, its name short for new engine option. Airbus launched it on 14 July 2014 at the Farnborough Airshow, promising about 14 percent better fuel economy per seat, and it is powered exclusively by the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000. Two versions exist: the A330-800, with a range of 8,100 nautical miles carrying 257 passengers, and the A330-900 with a range of 7,350 nautical miles carrying 287. The -900 first flew on 19 October 2017 and entered service with TAP Air Portugal in December 2018; the -800 made its first flight in November 2018 and entered service with Kuwait Airways in November 2020. By September 2026, 524 had been ordered by more than 30 customers and 199 delivered.
