Airbus A320neo family

Airliners and Commercial Jet Aircraft

The Airbus A320neo family is the re-engined generation of the Airbus A320 family of single-aisle airliners; neo stands for new engine option. Fitted with CFM International LEAP or Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines and sharklet wingtips, it burns 15 to 20 percent less fuel than the earlier A320ceo aircraft. Airbus launched it on 1 December 2010, the first flight was on 25 September 2014 and Lufthansa introduced it on 25 January 2016. IndiGo is its largest customer, and more than 12,000 had been ordered by more than 130 customers, with about 4,800 delivered. It competes chiefly with the Boeing 737 MAX.
