The Airbus A318, nicknamed the Baby Bus, is the smallest member of the Airbus A320 family of single-aisle jet airliners, seating from 32 to 132 passengers depending on layout and flying up to about 5,750 kilometres. Final assembly was in Hamburg, Germany. Its prototype first flew in January 2002 and Frontier Airlines put it into service in July 2003. Pilots rated on the A320 family can fly it without extra training, and it was certified for the steep approach needed at London City Airport. Only about eighty were ordered, and Airbus no longer lists it for sale since the A220 took over that part of the market.
